Mr. Coates is the Vice President of the law firm, Coates & Coates P.C. His areas of expertise include estate planning, elder law, caregiver agreements, guardianships, medical assistance for long-term care, and special needs trust. Drew was a Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Senior Assistant Counsel when he retired from the Department of Public Welfare, Office of General Counsel.
During the years Drew was with the DPW,
he participated in the drafting of statutes and requirements governing eligibility for medical assistance for long-term care. This experience helped him develop his expertise to apply the actual positions of his clients to the technical rules of medical assistance.
He is a member of the Montgomery County Bar Association, the Probate and Trust Law Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association, and a member of the Elder Law Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. Mr. Coates has lectured and participated in many educational programs for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute and local county bar associations. Mr. Coates received his B.A. from LaSalle University and his J.D. from Temple School of Law.
Mrs. Coates has been practicing law for
more than 25 years. She is the President of the law firm, Coates & Coates P.C. While attending Temple University School of Law, Mrs. Coates served a student internship in the Third Circuit Court of Appeal. She worked as a student intern in the chambers of the late Honorable Joseph J. McGlynn in the Federal District Court of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. She also worked as a student intern and clerk for Richard Phillips, Esquire, researching topics related to horse racing in Pennsylvania. After graduating, Anne worked as a law clerk for the
Honorable James R. Melinson, Judge of the Superior Court of Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Coates received her B.S. Maxima Cum Laud from LaSalle University in 1984 and earned her J.D. at Temple University School of Law in 1987. In 2012, Mrs. Coates received an Estate Planning Certification and LL.M.
in taxation from the Temple University School of Law graduate studies program.
Anne's areas of practice include estate planning, wills and trusts, delegating authority, advanced health care directives, estate administration, and probate law.
